I’ve been battling depression for the past year, and have come to the realization that I put so much pressure on myself and set unrealistic expectations that only get me down. I got this tattoo as a reminder to myself that I am only human and that I have to make mistakes. Disappointing others is inevitable, and happiness is my main priority now.

It is very simple, but it says “GIVEN TO FLY”
it is a song by Pearl Jam and the lyrics stand out to me

rather than turning the pain we have to endure into pain and bitterness we should convert it into love to bring other people happiness.
